Oatmeal was originally created as a character Bentley drew on gift tags for friends and family. At age 13, she wrote the first book in the series, which is titled Oatmeal Comes Home, and at age 15, she wrote the second book, "Oatmeal Becomes a Brother," which was released in September of 2023. She has just released the third book of the Oatmeal series title "Oatmeal Explores America". This book is the first in her new American history series with Oatmeal. Oatmeal is a pocket-sized reindeer, just 5" tall, although he has so many exciting adventures yet to come! Oatmeal is a beloved character by children and adults alike, who can't resist his cuteness and love for adventure, history, and friends.

Bentley is a young artist from Duluth, GA now residing in rural Royston, GA. Art has always been a passion of hers, and turning her original idea for the character of Oatmeal into a series of children's books is a dream come true! She creates from her studio, a 1951 aluminum travel trailer she purchased and remodeled in 2019. Bentley is homeschooled which allows extra time for pursuing art and writing. She participates in local art shows and festivals across Georgia and is excited to share her art with others, including the upcoming generation who will delight in her books.
